Roti Indian Bistro

Roti Indian Bistro: My favorite indian restaurant of all time!

I discovered this amazing restaurant when I was living out in the sunset a few years ago and it’s still the best indian I have ever had! It’s located at West Portal, which is a cozy little small town within the city itself. The street has multiple restaurants, lots of small mom and pap shops, and an cozy old theater redesigned to be a movie theater.

Roti Indian Bistro has a great atmosphere with warm colors and great authentic pictures from India. The restaurant appears to be family owned and the staff is really nice. What I assume is the owner is always there and very attentive. He has even offered me a free dessert or some tea on the house multiple times, I guess become I have become quite the regular:)

I love their Vegetable Pakoras as an appetizer and the Chicken Korma with Rice and Nan for the main course. The food is truly the best Indian I have ever had! I currently live downtown in Nob hill and even though it’s a good 20-30 minute drive to get there, I am there whenever I can convince anyone else to join me!:)

Outside Lands 2013

outside lands festival life

Outside Lands is an annual music festival taking place in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. It’s usually in August, involves around 80 000 people and this year we got tickets. I have never been to a music festival here before and didn’t really know what to expect, except that everybody was raving on about it so I was excited!

We only had a Saturday pass, but to be honest that was just enough festival fun for me. Kris, Julia and I got there in the afternoon and then we met up with Linn and Kine randomly in the bathroom line, yes randomly?!?

The day was perfect! Started out with some casual Heinekens on the grass in front of “Youth Lagoon”, which I had never heard of, but ended up loving. We moved on the highlight of the day to be honest, Jurassic five. They were all together on stage for the first time in 6 years so we got lucky! They put on a really good show and it felt good to be back in San Francisco. After some dancing, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, more Heinekens, Nine Inch Nails, some food and more fun we finished off the night with a Phoenix light show!
